Description:  Description of the contract: 

The main objective of the Project is to reuse the treated effluent for irrigation purposes to supplement the scarce water resources in Jordan. This project is pertaining to the replacement of the existing DN600/500 gravity effluent pipeline with a new steel effluent pressure pipe DN800 with a total length of 13.5 km. 

 

This will be used to transfer the treated sewage effluent from Wadi Al Shallalah WWTP and Central Irbid WWTP to Wadi Al-Arab WWTP. The pipeline will also be used to generate hydropower at Wadi Al Arab WWTP from the transferred effluent via the new pressure pipeline by taking advantage of the difference in elevation. 

The Scope of Works includes the following: 

 

Site clearance for route of pipeline and chambers including demolition of structures, removal of existing rubble, felling of trees, removal of bushes etc. 

Trench excavation, laying, and welding of 13.5 km of steel pressure pipeline of DN800 between Irbid Central and Wadi Al Arab WWTP handling pressure of approximately 35 bars; 

Laying of fiber optic cables along the same route of the treated effluent pressure pipeline between Irbid Central and Wadi Al Arab WWTP; and 

All ancillary works along the treated effluent pressure pipeline, including thrust blocks, isolating valve chambers every 1.0 km for maintenance purposes, all bends and elbows

required to make the treated effluent pressure pipeline works complete. 

Design supply, install and test Cathodic protection to carbon steel pipeline.
